Papa’s Tale
AM
Hello grand pappy
Won’t you tell me a tale
E
Of mountains so high
With valleys and dales
EM
Where sleepy old moons
A7
And bright happy suns
D
Invite us to play
To ramble and run
GM
Climb up on my lap now
I’m happy to share
F#M
A daring adventure
That happened one year
Ab
When a wise kindly king
G7
Instructed His son
C
Of a task He must do
E
He knew wouldn’t be fun
AM
Mmmmmmm
AM
Dressed in bright armor
He entered a land
E
Where demons and dragons
Were making a stand
EM
In a dry dessert
A7
He met His foe
D
Who asked that He join him
Of course He said no
GM
From out of His mouth
He drew a sharp sword
F#M
And slashed at the beast
And pushed him on toward
Ab
One final battle
G7
On a near distant day
C
Where the fate of the world
E
So helplessly laid
AM
Mmmmmmm
AM
That beast was a snake
Who nipped at His heal
E
One night in a garden
The pain He did feel
EM
The venom didn’t kill him
A7
No He sweated it out
D
He climbed on a tree
From there He did shout
GM
Father I’ve done all
You’ve asked me to do
F#M
I’ve crushed his head
Now I’m coming to You
Ab
His father smiled
G7
The victory won
C
He opened His arms
E
And welcomed His son

AM
Mmmmmmm
AM
The act of that man
Has now opened a door
E
To a wonderful place
For us to explore
EM
Where sleepy old moons
A7
And bright happy suns
D
Invite us to play
To ramble and run
GM
It’s easy to get there
I’ll be there one day
F#M
I know you will too
If you what I say
Ab
Just look to the Father
G7
And point to the Son
C
And say you believe
E
In all He has done
AM
Mmmmmmm

AM
Yes grand pappy
E
I see the Son
AM
Come take my hand
E AM E A
